Days 2-7 after treatment...

Days 2-7 after treatment:

  • Redness will generally settle down by day two, however, your skin may still feel tight and dry which is normal and to be expected.

  • Depending on the depth of the chemical peel, if peeling occurs it will occur between days 1-3 and may last up to a week.

  • Some itchiness is normal, do not scratch or pick at flaky skin as this can disrupt the healing cycle and cause scaring or abnormal pigmentation. You may use the soothing balm provided to you in your aftercare kit on itchy areas.

  • Around day 9 your skin will likely be calming down and you’ll be able to begin to notice a smoother and rejuvenated glow!

  • While you may see results after your first treatment, longer-lasting and more significant results will be seen with a series of treatments. Sensi Peel and AlphaRet Professional Peel may be repeated monthly, speak with your provider about timing for your next Ultra Peel.

  •  A quality skincare regimen such as SkinBetter is also advised in order to enhance results of your treatments. Please ask your provider about what products they would recommend for your unique needs.

  • If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your provider!

Microneedling

Days 2-7 after treatment:

Swelling is normal and is a sign that the treatment is working (the inflammatory process that we triggered to help stimulate collagen and elastin production in your skin) and will likely settle down in 3-5 days.

  • Peeling will occur on most clients between days 1-3 and may last up to a week.

  • Some itchiness is normal, do not scratch or pick at flaky skin as this can disrupt the healing cycle and cause scaring or abnormal pigmentation. You may use the soothing balm provided to you in your aftercare kit on itchy areas.

Dermal Filler

  • Swelling, redness, firmness, itching and tenderness may be present for up to two weeks. Use of cool packs may be used as needed. If your primary physician allows, you may take Zyrtec and Ranitidine OTC as directed on bottle to help with any swelling and redness.

  • If you have a history of cold sores you will need to notify your injector so that prophylactic medication can be prescribed to prevent an outbreak post-procedure (or contact your PCP for prescription of a prophylactic antiviral).

  • Sleep with your head elevated to help reduce swelling.

  • Do not massage or put pressure on the area, unless instructed by injector.

  • Wait 24 hours to apply cosmetics, 4 hours for moisturizer or any lotions.

  • After your appointment, your swelling will likely increase over the following 24 hours, this can seem scary to some people and it is natural to think "oh dear what have I done?!" but trust the process, the swelling will go down!

  • Avoid direct sunlight or extreme cold weather until initial swelling and/or redness has subsided.

  • Refrain from strenuous exercise, or anything that raises your core body temperature or blood pressure for 24 hours.

  • If you had your lips done, avoid using a straw or doing anything strenuous with your mouth/lips.

  • Avoid going to the dentist (unless it is an emergency) for at least two weeks before and two weeks after your filler appointment, especially if you are having areas around your mouth treated with filler.

  • Results will be immediate, but ifinal and best results will be noted after swelling has resolved and product has settled which may take up to 30 days.

  • Motrin/Advil or Tylenol may be used as directed on the bottle for any discomfort after injections unless contraindicated by your primary care provider.

Dermal Filler

  • Benadryl 25-50mg, unless contraindicated by your PCP, as directed on bottle, may be used for itching. Benadryl can make you sleepy. Do not drive or perform any activities accordingly.

  • Plan ahead- vaccines should not be administered 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after dermal filler treatments, the two together may trigger an unpleasant immune response.

  • Lumps, bumps, or irregular/asymmetrical areas may be noted during the healing process. During the first 24-48 hours these lumps may be directly related to swelling, so please be patient and trust the process. Once swelling has subsided, it is normal to potentially feel these lumps and bumps as the product is still settling and integrating into the area it was injected, however they should not be visible.

  • Any severe swelling, itching, redness, increasing discomfort, pale areas, bruising or discoloration in areas that were not injected, small white pustules, or discharge from the treated area should be reported to your injector ASAP.

  • Periodic touch-ups will help sustain the desired level of correction,

  • Again- it can take up to TWO weeks for swelling and bruising to subside. If additional filler is desired in an area of previous treatment, your provider may ask you to wait at least 2 weeks, more often 30 days. Furthermore, if you feel you are "over filled", take a deep breath, trust the process, this is a medical procedure that is more invasive than getting your hair done and requires downtime. Trust the process and give swelling at least two weeks to subside before electing to dissolve any product.

  • If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your Injector!
